Additional Notes
Keep phosphate very low, less than .03ppm at all times. The low phosphate promotes calcification of the clams shell. High phospates will inhibit its growth. It is a known reducer of nitrate, but the effect is minimal. Perhaps 10 in 100 gallons would show measureable effects.
