Physical Description
Juveniles are black/dark brown in voloration with white spots. Adults are light brown in coloration, with darker brown bands, and white spots.
Distribution
Indo-pacific region - Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, & India.

Behavior
Usually fairly peaceful species, but known to a bit aggressive at feeding time.
Feeding
Primarily Benthic invertebrates(shrimp, crab, clams, & octopi) & small fish.
Breeding
Known to be oviparous. Also known to breed successfully in captivity.
Social Structure
Does well in small groups - but mature males may show some signs of aggression toward each other, especially during breeding season.

The 2nd most common species of bamboo shark found in LFS, and home aquaria. sometimes sold under the name of Marbled Bamboo. This species is often considered to be an ideal "beginner" shark.
